These pictures were taken, mostly, at Merritt Island National Wildlife Reserve. This was my first visit to the reserve which is located next to Cape Canaveral on the east coast of Florida, an hour from Orlando. There was an amazing variety of birds, and in great numbers. I am sure that the time of year had a lot to do with the numbers and vivid colors. I would recommend this park to anyone interested in wildlife or scenic photography. In addition to birds I also encountered otters and peccaries. I did not see the manatees, though I did not spend much time looking for them.
